Introduction

Since time immemorial humankind has been aware of the fact that fate shapes all our lives.

The ancient legends of our Northern Ancestors tell of the three Norns named Urd, Verdandi and Skuld. In Macbeth Shakespeare called those three beings the Weird Sisters. They are the representatives of what was, what is and what will be.
Together the Norns weave the Web of Wyrd, using a thread, spun by the Mother-Goddess Frigga. This Web of Wyrd is the fabric of Time, woven on the loom of the Earth, measured by the motion of the sun through the year.
It is said that the Norns weave the threads of our destiny.

It may seem that we are helpless against fate, but to a certain extent we are able to shape parts of our own Web of Wyrd, our destiny.

It is our free will, which enables us to make conscious decisions and shape our own future.
